Q: How long will it take to get my refund?


A: Generally, in approximately 7 to 21 business days.
The IRS advise to wait 21 days before contacting them.

Q: I'm ready to file, but I'm missing a W-2, can I file it on my taxes next year?

A: No, the IRS does not allow two different tax years/fiscal years on one tax return. It is best to wait for the W-2 so that all your income will be reported in the correct year.

Q: My refund was taken, how can I find out why?

A: The IRS has provided a telephone number for this purpose- 1.800.304.3107 (automated 24/7).

It's the IRS Refund Treasury Offset Program provided through the Bureau of the Fiscal Service.
Refund inquiries are only handled by phone.

Q: I'm not going to be ready to file by April 15th, what should I do?

A: You can file an "extension" and pay any tax that may be due by April 15th.
